EVENT


Earthdance Madison 2009 is a potent combination of music, dance and technology directed toward positive and humanitarian aims. The event will offer family-friendly entertainment including: children’s activities with the Madison Children’s Museum, community drum circle, dances of universal peace, and live music. Starting at 9:00 PM, there will be electronic music (see DJ Schedule) spun by local and touring DJs: DJ SE (Madison), DJ Lukewarm (Milwaukee), DJ MoPo (San Francisco), and DJ Nee High (Madison).


The Common Wealth Gallery space will be filled with art, video projection, and stretch fabric installations.


2009's world-wide theme is Blessing the Children and proceeds from donations will benefit two local non-profits, the Children's Global Peace Project and Junebug Initiative for CREATive ACTion.


This is a drug- and alcohol-free family event

WHAT IS EARTHDANCE?


Earthdance, the largest global synchronized dance event in the world, takes place in 300+ locations and 60 countries. Conceived by artist/musician Chris Deckker in 1996, this event provides a unique opportunity weaving creative expression through music, art and dance, while making a positive impact on the world. A focal-point is a global synchronized Prayer for Peace, which occurs at 6:00pm CST.
